Codebeater is back.  What happened and why was I offline for so long?  I was using BlogEngine.NET for my blog and started getting hacked constantly.  I have nothing against the BlogEngine.NET team, but at the time I stopped using it the security was crap.  Sorry, it just was.  It may be completely different now, and I hope that it is, but it’s too late for me… I’ve moved on.

It may seem a little strange that a blog dedicated primarily to the .NET Framework and programming languages would not use a blog engine born of that same thread.  Been there, done that.  I’ve since started using linux based applications for some of my personal sites and have not had any problems so far, no hacking at all.  As a matter of fact, I’m really starting to enjoy it.  When you couple that with the fact that shared hosting providers, such as Godaddy, give you unlimited sites, unlimited bandwith and unlimited MySQL databases on the premium Linux hosting plan it’s kind of a hard thing to pass up.   Add to all of this the abundance of very strong open-source Linux-based applications available and…. well, you get the idea.

About the blog;  I will not limit it to just programming or .NET.  I have many interests in life and this is just one avenue of expressing/exploring those interests.  If you don’t like me going off (.NET) topic don’t read my blog, simple as that.  It’s not that I don’t care about having readers, it’s more that I’m not going to change who I am to keep people interested.  I like to “keep it real” to use an already overused cliche.

I enjoy developing applications and the .NET framework is my primary tool for doing so.  It’s what I often do for fun and it’s what I do for a living as well.  Hopefully I will have some interesting tidbits to share.  I welcome your comments and constructive criticism but reserve the right to disagree, respectully or otherwise.

One more thing.  I will not be sharing my name for professional reasons so please don’t bother asking.
